I always thought of our drinking fountains back home as stale and unappealing. I looked at it and saw a small spigot-like object that squirted an inch or two of bad city water. I avoided drinking out of it. In Paris, the city has drinking fountains that are quite the opposite: artistic and unique. These fountains are constantly streaming a line of water so people can fill up their own cup or bottle for drinking. I think this method is better at providing drinking water, as you’re not sticking your mouth in there, but it does seem like a waste to have water running 24/7.
