Poivre de Cayenne

We bought our first fruit-bearing plant a few days ago. Walking back home from grocery shopping we noticed a pepper plant in front of a flower shop. The long red and green fingers of cayenne were calling out to us. Tempted by its vibrant colors and assumed spiciness, we decided to purchase one.

Care with 8 hours of sunshine and water every day.

Now we have an endless supply of hot peppers. I’m thrilled since we haven’t been able to get a consistent supply of fresh chili peppers in France. These cayenne peppers do have a tasty powerful kick, as we’ve eaten a good amount already. We’re pleased, and I plan on picking the longer ones to make chili powder out of them.

Bring on the spice! J’aime très épicé.
