As visitors to Barcelona, we noticed signs everywhere for paella. It was loud and clear that the dish should be tried by tourists. However, if you eat a plant-based diet there aren’t too many options for a vegan paella. Fortunately, we stumbled upon a place that serves the vegan version. Biocenter is the place and we went there on the first day for lunch. We had their complete meal menu: soup, salad, entree and dessert.
We both had the same squash soup and salad mix, as well as the paella. I have to admit I was thrilled to try the dish. It had mushrooms and vegetables and was quite good. I expected spicy, but it was far from that: The flavor was mild and sweet with a mushroom aftertaste. My only gripe about it was that it was too oily. But, the taste and execution satisfied my dining experience — I was happy to have had paella.
Desserts at Biocenter were exceptional. After not being able to have any sort of pumpkin dessert for Thanksgiving, I did not hesitate on getting their pumpkin cake. It was so yummy!
Nick had a carrot cake that had a hint of lemon to it. We both enjoyed it very much as well. Yum!
