Piestewa Peak

Piestewa Peak, formerly called Squaw Peak, is a popular short hike (2.4 miles) in East Phoenix. Although short, it is a straight steep climb up the entire way with an elevation gain of 1200 feet. The total elevation is 2600 feet. This was a great workout and I loved every bit of it, but the trail had a lot of loose and jagged rocks, making it precarious and challenging on my ankle as I had to place my foot strategically when I ascended and descended the mountain. When our leg workout was over with, we reached the summit and enjoyed the view of the city.
