The University of Texas squirrels are people-friendly, curious and not shy. While roaming the campus a couple hungry ones approached me. Perched on their hind legs, they made eye contact, wiggled their bushy tails, and scurried over. A foot away from me, one eyed me and twitched his nose as if he was saying, “Food? What’d ya got?” Unfortunately, I had no nuts for the little guys and they lost interest quickly and dashed off. Nick and I enjoyed watching them for some time, amused by their behavior as we’ve never seen such domesticated squirrels before.
