Trail of Lights

On Monday evening we visited Austin’s Trail of Lights at Zilker Park. It’s one of Austin’s top three largest event, and it’s popular with locals and visitors alike. Put together by sponsors, volunteers and the community, the presentation has multiple themes along the trail and is situated across from the Zilker Holiday Tree — which isn’t really a tree, but rather a mock-up tree built up of Christmas lights cloaking the moonlight tower.

Despite the large crowd of people, we appreciated the walk after dinner and enjoyed following the bright lights on the path. All along, one can find food trailers parked along the trail. I guess it wouldn’t be Austin if you couldn’t find at least ten food trucks at an event! The smell of kettle corn wafted in the air, and at times that was all we could smell. It was definitely a holiday event, and it was a nice change for us out of our Monday schedule.
