Coming back to the highlight of our trip in Quebec, the visit to Montmorency Falls was a nice escape to nature. After experiencing a cold, windy and rainy day previously, we got lucky with the weather on our visit. Though still windy, it was warmer and sunny. The waterfall and two smaller ones are situated at Montmorency Park just 15 minutes away from the city. And it may not seem like it, but Montmorency waterfall is taller than Niagara Falls by 30 meters (98 ft.).
To get a closer look at the fall, you can either ride a cable car up to the suspension bridge, or hike up the stairs on the side of the mountain and walk across to the side of the falls to the bridge. Of course the hike and walk sounded like a better way to go, so we took that opportunity.
Up at the top, there are picnic areas and you can get a closer look at those zip-lining and rock climbing. We took our time observing the falls and enjoyed the space. It was quite relaxing and it was an unexpected nature adventure on the trip. If you’re visiting Quebec City, this is definitely a must-see!
