Southwark and the Thames River Cruise

The weather in London has been great lately since we’ve arrived. Last weekend in particular was warm and beautiful. We played tourists in the nice weather, joining other visitors on the Thames River circular cruise, as we boarded in Southwark at the Bankside Pier. Southwark is in south London, forming inner London, connecting by bridges across the Thames.

South Bank Pier, where we boarded.

Tower Bridge

Tower of London

Sky Garden, also known as the Walkie Talkie building. We have a future visit booked to go to the top in September.

The Shard building is the tallest building in Western Europe. We’ll be visiting it this Thursday evening, with a future visit later to the top floor.

Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament

The London Eye

Two hours basking in the sun on the water was a good day spent! If you’re visiting and the weather is nice, it’s a great way to see some of London’s iconic landmarks and other buildings as you learn some history about them.
