There is an urban park, Laval Nature Center in Laval, the biggest one in the city dubbed as “mini central park” by the locals. I don’t know if I agree with that. It is vast, but the park feels a little like a little like a fairground and part zoo.
The Nature Center is a popular spot for families, joggers, and walkers. The place has a manmade lake for kayaking and canoeing, a farmhouse and outdoor space for animals, a skateboard park, and garden. This was a perfect place to explore and walk on a lazy Sunday.
The farmhouse was too crowded for us, but we managed to see all of the animals. I thought the white peacock was gorgeous! And the outdoor space where the animals were grazing made it easier to watch the animals without the enclosed space.
The lake is quite small, a perfect beginner’s place for kayaking and canoeing.
The many trails were a nice peaceful stroll, as it strayed from the noisy crowd.
My favorite thing about the park was the garden. The beautiful colors of the flowers popped and brightened up the place, attracting both bees and humans.
There is a greenhouse as well with grown vegetables. The swiss chard looked so good, I wanted to snatch one up and munch!
